William Perez
Master Sergeant, United States Marine Corps (Retired)
 
  • In 1991, he deployed on Gulf War I in Desert Shield and Desert Storm and was part of the Battle of Khafji with the First Marine Division (CNN captured Bill and his team when the first shots were fired!).
  • In 1995, he deployed on an Embassy Reinforcement mission to evacuate civilians and reinforce the US Embassy in Libera.
  • In 1996, he served on a NATO Peace Keeping Operation in Haiti in to assist in the replacement of Dictator Raul Cedras and oversea new democratic elections.
  • In 1999, he deployed on Peace Keeping Operations to Kosovo—the Former Yugoslavia Republic to stop the genocide and returned in 2000 to reinforce the NATO Mission.
  • He was part of the 1st Tank Battalion, United States Marine Corps during the ‘March Up’ into Baghdad Iraq in 2003.
  • During Iraqi Freedom, he served 1st Marine Division and was part of the Battle of Fallujah in 2004 and returned to Iraq in 2008 and was part of the 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion for the historical phase to hand back Fallujah.
  • In early 2005, he deployed on a Humanitarian Mission during the Earthquake and Tsunami in Indonesia and Sumatra.
  • In late 2005, after a major Earthquake in the North Western Frontier Provence in Pakistan he deployed as part of the Earthquake and Medical Relief Mission to set up a hospital and set up logistics to transport humanitarian supplies.
  • He deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 with Operation Enduring Freedom with 1st Marine Division—for his last (and worst) combat deployment before retirement.
Since his retirement, Bill has been a Federal Law Enforcement Officer initially on the Marine Corps Base Hawaii and after moving to Utah in 2018, with the VA in Salt Lake City.  He recently accepted a promotion as a patient advocate with the VA and feels proud to continue to support the military community.

When he’s not working, Bill enjoys spending time with wife Vanessa and son Henry. He is an avid Military Historian, vintage comic book collector, super hero nerd and he is a talented writer and artist.

Today's teens are the future, and the Krohn Breakthrough
Foundation is inviting parents and teens to a life-changing
event focused on cultivating the next generation of
leaders. The event is designed to reinforce the ethics,
goals, and morals that parents are establishing for their
children and take that foundation to a new level.

During the event, attendees will learn about mindset
training and empowerment tools that will help them
become more resilient and confident individuals.
The event will feature keynote speakers, interactive
activities, and opportunities to connect with other
parents and teens.
