This course is for economic development professionals, elected officials, municipal staff or business professionals working with the public sector. The course focuses on the key core areas that are vital to growing a community. The course teaches the theory behind the core areas as well as brings real world examples to show how the theory works. Core areas include, business expansion and retention, strategic planning, workforce development, financing, marketing your community, tax increment financing and the incentive process and site selection. The course is designed to help a student become more effective at promoting their community. Course runs on Jan 24, Feb 7, March, 6 and April 2-3. Please note that April 2 class time is from 1-5 pm. All other dates are from 8 am to 5 pm.
