STACC (STREET AND AIR CRITICAL CARE)


"The Street & Air Critical Care (StACC) course is a16 week online program designed to provide experienced paramedics and nurses an in-depth understanding of the concepts of critical care transport, training on advanced skills, and preparation to pass national critical care transport certification exams. StACC instructors include physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, flight medics, and flight nurses. Lectures cover 24 different critical care subjects such as ventilator management, lab data interpretation, radiographic image analysis, 12 lead EKG interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, circulatory assist device management, advanced pharmacology, and more.The first section of class discusses each of the 24 topics in great depth. The last section includes a summarized review the of the course content, focusing specifically on material students will be tested on by national critical care certification exams. Students will also be trained on the performance of advanced skills such as thoracotomies, pericardiocentesis, cricothyrotomies, etc. The course director is Josh Forsyth. Josh has is an experienced paramedic and flight nurse. He has worked in the emergency and critical care field for over 16 years. He has also been an instructor at Utah Valley University for the past 10 years. Each module includes a lecture, reading assignment, and quiz. Class member's progress will be monitored closely by Josh to ensure each student's success. Class members will be provided with Josh's direct contact information. Students are encouraged to contact Josh directly throughout the course with any help they may require.StACC is approved by the International Board for Specialty Certifications (IBSC) for 60 CME units toward renewal of the FPC or CCPC. StACC CME units are also recognized by the State of Utah Bureau of EMS. Participants will be required to purchase a book which is not included the course fee ($90)."

AIR CRITICAL CARE (FPC-CFRN) REVIEW COURSE

The Air Critical Care Course delivers 18 hours of instruction in evidence-based critical care transport over a two-day period. The course was designed by critical care nurses and paramedics with a diverse background in managing critically ill and injured patients during transport. The content of the Air Critical Care course is based on current literature and standards recommended by the International Association of Flight and Critical Care Paramedics (IAFCCP) and the Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association (ASTNA). Topics of instruction include: ventilator management, radiographic image interpretation, lab data analysis, cardiac circulatory assist devices, critical care pharmacology, CAMTS standards, etc. The Air Critical Care course meets the requirements by the International Board for Specialty Certifications (IBSC) for both the FP-C and CCP-C re-certification. It is also an excellent course for those looking to certify for the first time. For students and professional paramedics and nurses interested in increasing their knowledge, skills, and qualifications even further, please look at UVU's Street and Air Critical Care (STACC) program which includes the content from the Air Critical Care Course plus additional in-depth instruction and training in critical care transport and 60 hours of CME credit.

AUTOMATED SOFTWARE TESTING CERTIFICATE

An introduction to automated software testing and QA engineering. Explains the usefulness of automated testing and circumstances for its use. Identifies and explains the purpose of a framework. You will write groups of automated tests using a industry standard framework and a high-level programming language (changes based on industry standards), and organize and execute a structured test suite. Course will test on web applications. We will also discuss the environments for automated testing (Web, GUI, api, back-end, etc.). Prerequisite: UVU Software Testing Certificate or significant industry-based software testing experience.

Educates new and seasoned economic development professionals in areas such as community development, business retention and expansion, strategic planning, real estate development, finance, entrepreneurship, neighborhood development strategies, workforce development, and marketing.
